Counseling Website Redesign
Lisa Duez is the CEO and Owner of Turning Point Counseling & Consulting, a thriving therapy practice in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I was honored to partner with Lisa to transform her online presence into a space that reflects her vision, growth, and community impact.
Lisa came to me with a clear set of goals. Her previous DIY website no longer represented the heart of her practice or the professional services she offered. She wanted a site that would:
Accurately reflect her counseling practice’s mission and values
Position Turning Point as a trusted source for therapy in the community
Highlight her role as a provider of training for other clinicians
Showcase new and growing specialized programs
Support the expansion of her practice
Provide a smoother flow and engaging movement for visitors
These goals became the foundation for the redesign.
The Design Approach: Growth, Clarity, and Care
Lisa’s logo included two bold colors, so to build a cohesive, inviting brand identity, I expanded her palette into six complementary colors and paired them with two professional yet approachable fonts. This updated branding feels gentle and calming, while giving Turning Point a distinctive, modern look that honors their original brand roots.
Lisa also invested in professional photos of her office spaces, which made a tremendous difference in bringing warmth and authenticity to the website. Real, high-quality images allow potential clients to get a genuine feel for the practice environment, creating a sense of trust and comfort.

A custom 404 page for better user experience
To enhance engagement, I added custom-coded elements like gradient and pulsing buttons, sliding images, a back-to-top button, and a scrolling logo gallery. These features brought movement and interactivity while keeping the overall aesthetic calm and professional.
Empowering the Client
As with every project, I provided personalized resources, recommendations, and tutorial videos so Lisa and her team can confidently maintain and update the website on their own. The goal wasn’t just to create a beautiful site—it was to build a sustainable digital foundation for Turning Point’s continued growth. (And I was thrilled to hear that less than 10 months after our redesign, Lisa has expanded to a third location!)
